Accomodations<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

Arrangements for participant accommodations have been made at two locations.<\/p>\n

Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort & Spa<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible to avoid disappointment and no later than Saturday, June 1, 2013<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Special group rates have been arranged with this newly renovated and green key eco-rated hotel, including a generous offer to upgrade the first 20 reservations to Mode Deluxe rooms<\/strong> overlooking the water (a $60 value). All conference rooms include complimentary wireless and high speed internet access. There is also a free shuttle that runs on BlueTEC diesel technology, which converts pollutant nitrogen oxides into harmless nitrogen and water. Service is available to participants from 6:45 AM \u2013 10:45 PM to any downtown location.<\/p>\n

University of Victoria Residence Housing<\/strong><\/p>\n

While being further away (20 minutes) from the sights of downtown Victoria this option can provide a more suitable option for\u00a0attendees looking to economise. Three types of accommodation are available: dormitory rooms, cluster units (similar to 4-bedroom apartments) and 1-bedroom apartments. Rates range from about $125 down to $50, or less depending on if you share.<\/p>\n

Attendees can reference the conference name AEHMS 11 <\/strong>or Aquatic Ecosystems at the Edge <\/strong>at the time of booking in order to be included in the AEHMS 11 block of rooms. Rooms not picked up 30 days prior to arrival will be released to the general public but will be available to book on an as-available basis.<\/p>\n

Travel Info.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Victoria Airport (YYJ) is approximately 20 minutes from the University campus and 30 minutes from downtown Victoria. Akal shuttle service is available and costs $21\/person to downtown and $27\/person to the university, per person prices are reduced with additional riders heading to the same location. There is an Akal Shuttle desk in the arrivals terminal near the baggage claim and shuttles leave from the airport every 30-40 minutes.
